How to request gluten-free on Cunard
From Cunard's official information (read October 2026):
- Cunard lists cereals containing gluten among the allergies it caters for. After you embark, the Head Waiter contacts you to explain how ordering works.
- Lunch and dinner on day one are pre-ordered for you; after that you pre-order the next day's meals from the menus. Alternative restaurants take pre-orders 24 hours ahead, Afternoon Tea includes a gluten-free selection, and room service gets a list of guests' allergies.
- Cunard says its kitchens are not allergen-free and advises guests with severe allergies to eat in the main dining room.

General steps that apply on every line:
- Declare celiac disease (not just a preference) when you book and on any special-needs or dietary form.
- Ask for traditional/fixed dining so you keep the same waiter all week, if the line offers it.
- On day one, meet the maître d' or head waiter and pre-order the next day's meals.
- Be careful at the buffet: shared utensils and self-service make cross-contact more likely. Ask staff to serve you from the kitchen.
- Plan port days and shore excursions with food separately.
