Gluten-free at sea and in the air: will your meal be there, and will it be safe?
FlyCeliac is a worldwide report card of gluten-free (celiac-safe) meals on airlines and cruise lines, built from traveller reports. Check before you go. Report when you get back.
Why this exists
About 6 in 10 airline GF meals arrived right
One celiac couple logged 47 long-haul GF meal requests: 28 arrived correctly, 15 came unlabelled and needed checking (4 sent back), and 4 never arrived. (GF Getaway)
Where it is made matters
On a plane, the caterer at the departure airport makes your meal. On a ship, the main dining room usually handles GF best and buffets are riskier. FlyCeliac tracks reports by route, ship and venue.
Reports are scattered
Celiac experiences with airlines and cruise lines are spread across forums and apps, often only one or two per company. FlyCeliac gathers them in one place.

Dedicated celiac group sailings
Celiac Cruise is a travel agency, not a cruise line: it books group sailings on Royal Caribbean and AmaWaterways with a dedicated gluten-free main dining room. Travellers in the Reddit threads we read describe it very positively, while noting that on big ships only certain venues are gluten-free.
