How to request gluten-free on P&O Cruises
From P&O Cruises's official information (read October 2026):
- P&O Cruises says it caters for gluten-free diets as standard, but food allergies must be declared at least 28 days before your holiday via its Customer Contact Centre. If you are coeliac, declare it.
- On board, a welcome letter invites you to meet the Food and Beverage team; day-one lunch and dinner are pre-ordered, and you are responsible for pre-ordering all later meals. Guests with severe allergies are advised to use the Freedom and Club restaurants.
- P&O says its kitchens are not allergen-free.

General steps that apply on every line:
- Declare celiac disease (not just a preference) when you book and on any special-needs or dietary form.
- Ask for traditional/fixed dining so you keep the same waiter all week, if the line offers it.
- On day one, meet the maître d' or head waiter and pre-order the next day's meals.
- Be careful at the buffet: shared utensils and self-service make cross-contact more likely. Ask staff to serve you from the kitchen.
- Plan port days and shore excursions with food separately.
