Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya

All-inclusive resort · Puerto Aventuras, Riviera Maya, Mexico

Most celiac reviewers ate well and stayed well, helped by allergy questions at every restaurant, but knowledge is inconsistent: always double-check items marked GF.

Always confirm with the hotel before booking and again when you arrive. Kitchens, chefs and menus change. Reports below are individual experiences, not guarantees and not medical advice.

🍳 Breakfast

Gluten-free breadYes
Separate GF toasterNot reported
Made-to-order GF dishesYes
Buffet cross-contactMixed reports

Buffets have allergen signs and tags, a small fridge of GF pastries and marked GF bread trays; GF pancakes and bacon can be special-ordered at The Market. Staff say they cannot guarantee anything on the buffet itself.

🍽️ On-site restaurants

Every restaurant asks about allergies when you arrive. Umi, Ciao and Los Gallos were dinner highlights for one celiac; Zen (hibachi) cooked a guest's meal in the kitchen. Menu GF marks were sometimes wrong.

What public traveller reports say

Summarized in our own words from public sources we read (October 2026). Each point is one or a few travellers' experience, not a statistic.

positive · breakfast and restaurants
Several celiac reviewers say staff ask about allergies at every restaurant, chefs made personal dishes and GF buns, and they did not get sick. One guest received a laminated allergy card in Spanish.
mixed · breakfast and restaurants
A recent reviewer rated breakfasts "okay", lunches good and dinners very good, but some menu items marked GF were not, and not all chips were GF; their stomach was a little upset most of the trip. Their advice: never assume, ask.
negative · restaurants
Other celiacs found staff not knowledgeable (one argued over whether soy sauce contains gluten), a language barrier, and few marked options at Zen.
