Sandals Resorts

Chain · Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Antigua, Bahamas, Grenada, Barbados, Curaçao (couples-only all-inclusive)

One of the best-reviewed all-inclusive brands for celiacs, but it varies by resort: Grande St. Lucian and Grenada got glowing reports, while Royal Bahamian was hit or miss and one celiac guest got sick.

Always confirm with the hotel before booking and again when you arrive. Kitchens, chefs and menus change. Reports below are individual experiences, not guarantees and not medical advice.

Every Sandals resort has a Culinary Concierge desk that works with the chefs to build custom menus for allergies and gluten-free (official). Travellers report dedicated GF fryers and servers who ask about allergies at every restaurant.

How to ask for gluten-free at Sandals Resorts

  • Tell Sandals about celiac disease when you book, then visit the Culinary Concierge desk as soon as you arrive to review menus and book dinners.

What public traveller reports say

Summarized in our own words from public sources we read (October 2026). Each point is one or a few travellers' experience, not a statistic.

positive · breakfast and restaurants
At Sandals Grande St. Lucian, a honeymooner said every restaurant (room service included) had at least one GF option, servers always asked about allergies, and cross-contamination was taken very seriously. She advises celiacs to skip the pizza: GF pizza is baked on a pan but in the same oven.
positive · breakfast and restaurants
A gluten-free travel blogger says each resort's Culinary Concierge understands celiac disease and cross-contact; she has had GF bread, burgers, fries from a dedicated fryer, pizza, pasta, French toast, pancakes and pastries.
positive · restaurants
A celiac guest at Sandals LaSource Grenada advises notifying the resort several times before arrival (they suggest 4 weeks ahead), booking all dinners with the Culinary Concierge and eating a little earlier because custom GF dishes take longer. The concierge could not answer allergen questions about specific dishes.
negative · restaurants
The same blogger found Sandals Royal Bahamian hit or miss: long lines to book dinners with no menu review or discussion of her celiac disease, almost no dishes marked GF, and she became ill during and after the trip. She recommends Grenada over Royal Bahamian.
