What public traveller reports say

Summarized in our own words from public sources we read (October 2026). Each point is one or a few travellers' experience, not a statistic.

positive · breakfast
A mother and daughter with celiac (Paraíso Maya) found a GF bread and cereal section at the Lindo buffet; a cook made GF crepes, pancakes and pizza and walked them through safe grilled meats and vegetables.
positive · breakfast and restaurants
Parents of a celiac son at Paraíso Lindo said the head chef cooked most of his meals separately, including burgers, fries, tacos, waffles, bread and surprise GF desserts; à la carte restaurants accommodated him well.
negative · restaurants
Another celiac got violently ill after a GF pizza made by the buffet chef on the first night, and walked out of the Maya teppanyaki restaurant because regular soy sauce, an uncleaned grill and shared utensils were used.
